A Message from Max, Owner of Fairway Lawn Service

Read Wesley T.‘s Fairway Lawn Service on Yelp to help reduce compaction and improve air/water circulation. A very inexpensive way to determine if your soil is too compacted and in need of aeration. Use a screwdriver after your lawn has been watered and attempt to push the screwdriver down into the soil. If the screwdriver goes into the soil with almost no resistance at all, then there is no compaction problem that you should be concerned about. On the other hand, if it’s difficult to push the screwdriver into the soil, then we recommend you aerate your lawn for a healthier and greener lawn.

When you become a customer of Fairway Lawn Service, we will aerate your lawns twice a year automatically. Consistency is key to maintaining a healthy lawn. Call us with your lawn care questions. We will help even if you are not a customer!

Aeration is an inexpensive way to spruce up your lawn!

Wild Violets

Wild Violets

These plants are the worst to try to pull because even the smallest root will propagate and make new plants. The good news is that they respond to the same weed killers as other broad leaved weeds. Control: Violets are easily killed using Ortho Weed-B-Gon or Bayer Advanced All-in-One Lawn...

Oxalis

Don’t confuse this weed with clover – it’s MUCH smaller and has tiny yellow flowers. A relative of woodsorrel, oxalis is a woody herbaceous plant – unlike clover, which is a legume. Oxalis has a nasty habit: it has exploding seed heads! As each tiny yellow flower dies and dries...

Dandelion

Would you eat this weed? Many people do (dandelion greens) but they really don’t belong in a lawn! Dandelions are biennial plants that persist in turf for years. They are by far the easiest to control because they are susceptible to all broadleaf weed killers. A newer variation has a...

Bermuda grass

Bermuda grass is not technically considered a weed, but many of us don’t like it and try to get rid of it. Some call it Devil’s grass and other derogatory names. Bermuda is a subtropical grass that always goes “dormant” in the winter. Since it came from tropical climates, it...

Bent Grass

Some people get bentgrass in their lawns and it looks like the image to the left. If the lawn is 100% bentgrass, there’s no problem, but when it invades a fescue or bluegrass lawn, it contrasts badly due to its fine texture and a different shade of green. Bentgrass is...

What Our Customers are Saying!

Mrs. MA, Los Altos, CA

At first, I couldn't believe there existed such a thing as Moisture Management (sp). I had you treat my yard in May, and it was way less expensive than I thought it would be. I followed your watering instructions on the website and now I use about 1/3 of the water I used before and my grass and plants still look ok! Please come again in three months - I LOVE this stuff!

Mr. PO, Palo Alto, CA

My lawn is green, but not overtly so, which is amazing considering how little I water which is only twice a week. Thanks for being there. Please repeat treatments as you see fit.
